The Naha School and new pilot programmes.
The summer heat brings an exciting time for iac. In June of this year we opened our Naha school. Along with a comprehensive curricula concentrating on all of the four skills; speaking, listening, reading, and writing, we are piloting a couple of additions to the Assisted Self Learning (ASL) component. Aroku, is a computer based study system integrating reading, writing, listening and grammar components based on the curricula of all local high schools. This allows you to build the skills necessary to improve overall school English grades, as wells the scores to such proficiency tests as Eiken and TOEIC.
We have also implemented a intensive reading programme. This programme takes students through a series of graded readers. By reading these interesting stories, students will improve vocabulary, grammar, and common colloquial expressions through natural language.
By combining high paced comprehensive conversation lessons with self paced grammar and reading programmes, I believe students overall level will be greatly increased. Student’s ability to communicate in English will continue to improve, and at the same time, there test scores and overall English grades will climb.
I am excited about the implementation of these new programmes. After piloting them in the new Naha school, I hope to introduce them to the Tomigusuku school as well.
